Cooperative Care Dog Training in South East London
We provide private Cooperative Care dog training led by a highly experienced dog trainer working across South East London. Cooperative Care is a specialised training approach that teaches dogs to become willing and active participants in their own care. From nail clipping and haircuts to veterinary exams, dogs encounter many types of care throughout their lives—some of which can feel overwhelming or distressing.
With Cooperative Care, we empower your dog by introducing choice and control during these procedures, building their confidence and making these experiences more comfortable. Whether it’s a routine grooming session or a vet visit, our training ensures your dog feels secure and supported every step of the way.
If you live in a different area, we would be happy to offer remote training over Zoom.
Cooperative Care Introduction
Would this be useful for my dog?
Cooperative Care training is for every dog. It is ideal for us to prepare puppies, who haven’t yet experienced the vet or groomers, for what those experiences will be like. It is also a valuable tool for dogs that have already had those experiences and may feel negatively towards vet and grooming procedures.
Day-to-day benefits
This type of training is not limited to vet and grooming procedures; some dogs struggle with day-to-day handling such as having a bath, putting on their harness or putting on a jacket. Cooperative Care training helps dogs in every area of their life to feel more comfortable around people and novel items.
